Achieve
Personal loans and debt resolution for fair-credit borrowers
How it works
Achieve (formerly FreedomPlus) is the lending arm of Freedom Financial Network, offering unsecured personal loans from $5,000 to $50,000 for debt consolidation, home improvement, and major expenses. Loans are funded by Cross River Bank, an FDIC-insured institution, and the company also offers debt resolution services through Achieve Debt Resolution. A companion app called Achieve GOOD helps users track spending, monitor credit, and follow a personalized debt payoff plan.
Is it right for you?
Consider if you
- You have fair credit (620+) and want to consolidate high-interest debt
- You want to apply with a co-borrower to get a better rate
- You need direct-to-creditor payoff so loan proceeds go straight to your debts
Skip if you
- Borrowers needing less than $5,000 — Achieve's minimum is too high
- Those with excellent credit (740+) who can find zero-fee lenders like SoFi or LightStream
- Anyone wanting to avoid origination fees entirely — fees range from 1.99% to 8.99%
Your money and data
Loans are originated through Cross River Bank, an FDIC-insured institution. Achieve uses TLS encryption for data in transit and at rest, with facilities accessible only to authorized personnel. The company maintains a comprehensive privacy policy compliant with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and CCPA. However, the parent company Freedom Financial Network was sued by the CFPB in 2017 for deceptive practices, and a 2025 NAD review found several advertising claims required modification.
